About the artist

Mary Jane Muir

I am retired from the Vancouver School Board where I was the Illustration Artist and one of two graphic designers in Media Services for fifteen years. I love to make art with children in kindergarten to grade three. I began to write stories again when I retired, and I hope to someday see them published as picture books. I have also been working on a middle-grade novel. I was on the Vancouver Children's Literature Roundtable executive for twenty years and was the Membership Coordinator for CWILL BC from 2013 to 2019. Although my two picture books are out of print, the stories are still loved by children. One is about soccer and the other book is about the loss of a family pet. I always have my well-worn copies to read and if there's an afternoon when you'd like me to visit, get in touch!
