We’ve heard from a few libraries that there is a greater interest in BC SRC than in previous years. While this is great news, this also means that some library systems have already run out of reading records/stickers.
BC SRC does not have any additional print materials stored, but there are few ways to help mitigate this:
- Share materials with other libraries, if you have extras
- It is still early days of the summer, but if you notice you have some bundles lying around, please check the YAACS forum for any call outs (currently Creston and Hazelton could use some extras)
- Please note, you do not need to be a BCLA member to have forum access
- Direct participants to the online reading tracker
- If your library system needs help setting this up, there is an online tutorial and you can email Stephanie ([email protected]) with any questions
- Print the print-at-home version of the reading record
- If your library would like to print more reading records, the print version can be found under “promotional materials” in the 2023 resources page
When completing your annual surveys, please be sure to note that you ran out of materials and record your total registrations (even those who did not receive a traditional reading record), so we can increase your material numbers for the following year. Thank you again for all your hard work and hope that your SRC has been going well!
