Winner Announced of the 2022 Community Story Award

We are delighted to share that the 2022 BC Summer Reading Club Community Story Award goes to Mel Edgar at the Powell River Public Library. While the pandemic has changed the ways libraries share Summer Reading Club with their communities, so many libraries have gone outdoors to ensure that children and families could still find ways to safely connect and participate in the program. Welcome to BC Summer Reading Club 2022: All Together Now On behalf of the British Columbia Library Association, we are absolutely thrilled to be sharing details about this year’s BC Summer Reading Club. Welcome to our new BC SRC Provincial Assistant

We are thrilled to announce that Madeline Ewanyshyn will be joining us as the new BC SRC Provincial Assistant. Madeline works at the Coquitlam Public Library as a Customer Experience Assistant and Lead, and she also helps support the Library Link, aka the mobile library bus. Last year, she played a key role on CPL’s SRC Committee and also presented writing workshops for kids and teens. She brings a lot of experience, enthusiasm, and creativity to this new role, and we’re excited to have her join the team. BC Summer Reading Club 2022 Artist Announcement

Exciting News! On behalf of the BC Summer Reading Club, we are excited to announce our 2022 Artist– Elaine Chen! Elaine Chen is a Vancouver-based illustrator and visual artist for video games. Her family immigrated to Canada in 2001 where she fell in love with Canadian summers and grew up in the Toronto area. She completed her degree at Sheridan College in Animation and has so far illustrated three picture books including My Day with Gong Gong by Sennah Lee.
