New BC SRC Co-Chair Announcement

On behalf of everyone at the BC Summer Reading Club, we are excited to welcome Kate Wood as our new BC SRC Co-Chair! Many of you already know Kate through her amazing work as the YAACS Chair and we cannot wait to have her join the team. $100,000 Provincial Grant for BC Summer Reading Club Accessibility Initiatives

BC Summer Reading Club is excited to share that we have received a one-time $100,000 grant for accessibility initiatives. This funding will allow us to continue to broaden and deepen accessibility in all aspects of the BC Summer Reading Club over the next several years. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for this funding, part of the $8 million for public libraries recently announced by the Province. Hold the Date: Ask Me Anything Event with Elaine Chen

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting this year’s BC SRC Artist, Elaine Chen,  for a virtual Ask Me Anything event for SRC participants on August 3rd, 2022 @ 2 p.m. live on YouTube. Winner Announced of the 2022 Community Story Award

We are delighted to share that the 2022 BC Summer Reading Club Community Story Award goes to Mel Edgar at the Powell River Public Library. While the pandemic has changed the ways libraries share Summer Reading Club with their communities, so many libraries have gone outdoors to ensure that children and families could still find ways to safely connect and participate in the program.
